Life Action is a ministry devoted to pointing God's people back
to Him. God used this ministry mightily in my home church in January 2002, and in my life at that same time. One could say
that Life Action Ministries is a great example of God's power and grace: He takes very imperfect people (and
I speak of myself, although none of us are even close to perfect), and amidst their own problems and life struggles, uses
them as instruments to draw His people back into a right relationship with Him. It was once said of Life Action that "they
ushered us into a room where God was standing, and then left and shut the door, leaving us alone with Him." (that's not an
exact quote) Life Action has a burden for God's people and for the holiness that He requires of them (Lev. 11:44-45, 1 Pet.
1:16).
Now for some facts about the ministry. We are based out of Buchanan,
Michigan (about twenty miles or so from South Bend, Indiana). There are currently four road teams that travel around the country
from September to May; in this 2003-2004 travel year, a new team was instituted: the revivalists for it are Laine Johnson
and Wilson Green, and it will go into small churches (150-250 people). Our other teams are called the Blue, Red, and Silver
Teams. The Blue and Red Teams generally go into churches of 350 or more members, and the Silver Team usually goes into churches
of between 150 and 350 people. The Red and Blue Teams both consist of around 20 single team members: the goal is 12 singers,
1 audio technician, 4 children's workers, 2 schoolteachers (for the children in the 2 families that travel on the
road) and several others that have jobs like media technician, team manager, financial clerk, team director, bus/truck
driver, and teen speaker. Then there are normally 2 families that travel (those would be the families of our 2 revivalists). Silver Team
has a few less people, because it goes into smaller churches, and White team has even fewer people and goes into (I believe)
churches as small or smaller than Silver Team. Red and Blue Teams each have a bus (charter-bus style) that we take
from church to church; Silver and White Teams each have a 15-passenger van. Each team has a semi/truck that
it stores its equipment in, and in which are the closets of the team members (we each get a 2ftX2ftX6ft closet
to put stuff in). All of Life Action staff lives on support, from our executive director to our singers to those working
behind a desk at Headquarters. Life Action's different areas of ministry include: a headquarters staff that does everything
from the Life Action website to answering phone calls, a Retreat and Conference Center staff that is in charge of retreats
and conferences (yeah) that go on at our campground throughout the year and runs the family camps that occur during the summer
and fall, 4 crusade road teams, an executive and an administrative staff (they make decisions), a pastor's retreat ministry
that just began this year, the Revive Our Hearts radio program that airs daily all across the nation, and, very
importantly, the people who faithfully pray for God's hand, control, and blessing of this ministry. THAT was a long sentence!
Life Action also sends out a magazine dealing with revival principles called Spirit Of Revival once or twice a year, and a
weekly email reading/ministry-update called Revival Link.
Finally, I've provided some links that will describe in greater
(or at least different) detail the different arenas in which God has allowed Life Action to minister:
